A quick and unexpected update:
I am due to eat at the Malmaison hotel in Brighton soon and I was sent a meal pre-order form.
I was expecting to experience the usual scenario where I either have to email the restaurant with my additional allergy request or call to ask someone to make a note of it.
Usually when I arrive at the restaurant I find out that the call/email message wasn't passed onto the chef and therefore my meal would be full of onions.
As a result I then have to have the same-old conversation where I apologise to the staff for "being awkward" in the hope that they can then do something about their mistake - I do this in true British fashion apologising as I go, even though it isn't my fault. Whereupon they are either a good restaurant and can do something about it or they aren't and I have to choose something else - or worse - can't eat at all!
BUT TO MY SURPRISE
Now, whilst there is no additional information option - I am so grateful to see this on an order form!
Thank you Malmaison hotel for allowing me to relax before I eat with you, knowing that you care about my allergies and I don't have to worry!
Watch this space for the review of the food :)
